Special One Off Events Insurance
Whatever you're organising, a private party, a charity fundraiser, a community carnival, a wedding celebration or a one-night concert, we can put the right cover in place quickly. Tailored to your event, not a generic template.
One event. One policy. Exactly the cover you need.
Not every event fits into a neat category. A special one-off event insurance policy is designed precisely for that, it gives you the flexibility to select the cover that's relevant to your event and leave out what isn't.
Whether you need public liability only, a full cancellation policy with adverse weather cover, or protection for hired-in equipment as well as your crowd, we can structure a policy around your specific situation. Cover is available for events of any scale, from a small private gathering to a large public occasion with thousands of attendees.
UK organisers can get an instant quote and policy online. For events outside the UK, or where your event requires individual underwriting consideration, our team will turn around terms as quickly as possible.

What your policy can include
Public Liability Insurance
Public Liability covers your legal liability if a member of the public is accidentally injured or their property is damaged as a result of your event. Employers Liability extends that to any staff, helpers or volunteers involved in running the event. Limits of up to £25m are available — venues and local authorities will often specify a minimum level as a condition of hire or licensing.
Cancellation & Abandonment Insurance
Covers the irrecoverable costs and contracted expenses you've already committed to if your event has to be cancelled, abandoned or postponed for reasons outside your control. This includes venue unavailability, severe weather, the death or serious illness of a key participant, terrorism, civil unrest and communicable disease. It does not cover cancellations made for commercial or personal preference reasons.
Non Appearance
If a key performer, speaker, guest of honour or other named individual is central to your event and unable to appear due to illness, injury, travel disruption or bereavement, non-appearance cover protects you against the resulting financial loss. Particularly relevant for events where the draw of a specific individual is a significant factor in attendance or commercial value.
Property All Risks
Covers owned or hired-in equipment: AV systems, staging, marquees, sound equipment and any other property brought to the event, against accidental loss or damage throughout the event period. Cover can include equipment in transit to and from the venue. Available as a standalone policy or as part of a combined event insurance package.

Frequently Asked Questions about film & media insurance
Do I need insurance for a small private event?
Not always legally, but it's often required by your venue, and almost always worth having. Most hired venues will require proof of public liability insurance as a condition of booking. Beyond that, even a small event carries real financial risk: a liability claim, a forced cancellation, or a damaged marquee can result in costs you wouldn't want to cover personally. Premiums for small events are low, and the protection they provide is significant by comparison.
Can I pick and choose which covers I include?
Yes, that's the point of a one-off event policy. You select the elements that are relevant to your event. If you only need public liability, you only pay for that. If you want cancellation and property cover as well, you add those. Our online quote engine walks you through the options, or you can speak to our team if you'd prefer advice on what's appropriate for your specific event.
How quickly can I get cover?
For most UK events, our online quote engine provides an instant quote and immediate cover, you can have your policy documentation within minutes. For events outside the UK, or more complex events that require individual underwriting consideration, our team will turn around terms as quickly as possible after receiving your enquiry form. If you need cover at short notice, call us directly on 01727 843 686.
What does cancellation insurance actually cover?
Adverse weather cover is available as an optional add-on to the cancellation policy, not included automatically. If your display is dependent on weather conditions, as most outdoor fireworks events are, it is worth adding at the point of purchase.
My event is outdoors, do I need adverse weather cover?
For any outdoor event in the UK, adverse weather cover is strongly worth considering. Standard cancellation insurance covers a range of perils, but adverse weather is typically structured as a specific add-on that activates when dangerous or extreme weather conditions force cancellation. Given the UK climate and the financial exposure of having a venue, catering, and entertainment all committed in advance, it's one of the most practical additions to an outdoor event policy.
What's the maximum public liability limit available?
Public liability cover is available up to £25m. The appropriate level for your event will depend on its scale, the venue, and any requirements specified by your venue, local authority or event licence. Many hired venues require a minimum of £2m or £5m, our team can advise on the right level based on your event's profile.
I'm running multiple events this year, is there a better option?
If you're organising more than two or three events in a year, a multiple events annual policy is likely to be more cost-effective than arranging individual policies for each one. It covers your full calendar under a single policy, with reduced pricing compared to separate one-off policies. See our Multiple Events Insurance page for more detail, or speak to our team about what works best for your programme.
